July 21, 2023 | San Diego, CA Our very own Mike Conger, principal of CAA, participated in surfing for a cause during City Surf Project's annual Surf-A-Thon on June 18th, 2023, to raise funds for underserved youth. Celebrating Success: Surf-a-Thon 2023 Surpasses Goal and Empowers Underserved Youth! We did it! Thanks to the incredible support, Surf-a-Thon 2023 has exceeded all expectations by surpassing City Surf Project's (CSP) goal of $40,000 to fund their summer programs. Together, we have taken a significant step towards ensuring equity and access to the ocean and surfing for underserved youth in the Bay Area.
City Surf Project is a remarkable non-profit organization. CSP is on a mission to create positive change by providing opportunities for underserved youth who historically have not been exposed to surfing or outdoor activities. Through their initiatives, CSP aims to break down barriers and ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has the chance to connect with the ocean and experience the transformative power of surfing.
The Surf-A-Thon, held annually on International Surfing Day, has become a symbol of unity and a celebration of the ocean's wonders and the joys of wave riding. This event serves a dual purpose: bringing people together to enjoy the sport they love while raising much-needed funds to sustain CSP's programs throughout the year.
On Saturday, June 18th, also known as International Surfing Day, CAA personally took part in this heartwarming event, surfing for a cause - supporting CSP's mission to empower Bay Area Youth through equitable access to surfing and outdoor experiences. Many joined us by making generous donations through Mike's team's fundraising page for the CSP Surf-A-Thon, and we cannot thank you enough for your support.
